Playground to Podium

Playground to Podium is a national initiative to identify emerging talent within disability sport, and build an effective framework to nurture and support this talent from a grass roots to elite level and possibly Paralympic podium. Essentially it is a talent pathway, however it should also ensure effective signposting is present at all stages of the framework to allow all disabled people more opportunities to participate.

Beginning with high quality provision and identifying ability days within the SSP, individuals identified as possessing talent then progress to formal County Athlete Assessment Day Centres supported by the governing bodies of the 6 nationally selected sports of athletics, boccia, football, swimming, table tennis and wheelchair basketball.
