Free pedometers to all schools that register with 'Schoolchildren for Children'
Schoolchildren for Children are delighted to announce that they are sending free pedometers to schools that have registered and participated in their challenges. This will give pupils a greater awareness of how much exercise that they are undertaking on a daily basis.
They are hoping that with these pedometers, pupils can more accurately calculate how many miles of voluntary exercise they are accumulating each day. This can then be allocated to the charity's Million Miles Challenge.
Pedometers will be sent to each school that participates in 2009, at a ratio of 1 pedometer per 10 pupils. If schools raise more than £1 per pupil then Schoolchildren for Children will be happy to send more pedometers.
Every pupil who participates will also receive a free Million Miles Challenge campaign wristband. Once a school has registered the organiser of the event will receive a free polo shirt and a school assembly style DVD.
It is also the charity's intention to send some lesson plans by the end of June that can be used with the pedometers. Please contact Schoolchildren for Children with the total distance that your school can contribute, tel: 0845 450 5889 or email: info@schoolchildrenforchildren.org
