The Global Boarders Surf School, who this year are coaching pupils to surf from Mounts Bay & Humphry Davy Schools have teamed up with Cornwall Waste Action for their annual Big Beach Clean at Marazion and Long Rock beach on Sunday 20th September from 10am to 12am.The event needs volunteers to participate with the beach clean and take part in a beachwatch survey on behalf of the Marine Conservation Society. The data from the survey will be analysed, to show the main litter problems and identify the sources of the waste that has accumulated on the beach. All volunteers will be provided with litter picking tools and gloves, whilst support and supervision will be provided by CWA. There will also be free refreshments for all those taking part and entertainment from Penzance based samba band Pensamba.Anyone wanting to volunteer is asked to meet at Station House pub Car park, between Long Rock and Marazion by Jordan's Cafe at 10 am on Sunday 20th September. For further information contact Ed at the GB Surf School at ed@gbsurfschool.com or Marina Sala from CWA on 01209 210883 or marina@wasteaction.org.uk
